How your data is handled
- Your permissions apply. The AI assistant sees only what your iorad account can access.
- Read-only, always. The iorad MCP can only read your iorad data. It cannot create, edit, publish, or delete tutorials, libraries, settings, or anything else in your account, no matter how you phrase a request.
- Secure sign-in. You connect with a standard secure sign-in (OAuth), and iorad stores your connection credentials encrypted.
- You're in control. You can disconnect iorad at any time in your AI assistant's connector settings. Your team owner can turn off ioradical Agents, which blocks all iorad MCP access.
What can the AI actually see?
Depending on what you ask, the AI can see:
- Tutorial content. Each step's text, metadata, and a link to that exact step in the player, plus any quiz questions. This doesn't include screenshots.
- Tutorial and library details. Titles, descriptions, categories, tags, and privacy settings.
- Usage and performance data. Launches, completions, time spent, quiz results, and where learners drop off.
- Learner-level detail. For reports broken down by person, this includes learner names alongside their activity.
- Team information. Your team members' names, emails, and roles.
- Your notifications. The content of your iorad notifications.
- Search activity. What people have searched for inside your libraries.
It only sees what your own iorad account already has permission to view. See 5. Tools, permissions, & access for exactly what each plan and role can unlock.
Does it read the screenshots in my tutorials?
No. The MCP returns each step's text, metadata, and a link to that step in the player, not the screenshot image itself. To see a step visually, follow its player link.
Is this different from a normal AI conversation?
Not really. Once the AI retrieves something from iorad, it becomes part of that conversation, the same as if you'd typed or pasted it in yourself. It isn't shared anywhere beyond your conversation, and iorad doesn't sell it or hand it off to anyone. It does mean your AI provider (Anthropic, OpenAI, Perplexity, and so on) processes it under their own data policies for that chat, exactly as they would anything else you send them.
iorad's own policy
For how iorad itself collects, stores, and handles your data, see iorad's Privacy Policy.
